Make That Podcast

Make That Podcast

Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University

16 hours

From long-form documentaries like S-Town to crafted interview shows like Another Round, podcasts have quickly become an essential part of our culture. Through listening exercises and critique, this eight-week course will immerse students in the contemporary podcast landscape, and they will apply the lessons learned toward developing their own podcast from idea to execution.

The course is appropriate for producers of all experience levels who have basic comfort recording and editing audio (students without experience in these areas should take Make That Audio Doc as a prerequisite). At the end of the eight weeks, students will have made significant progress on a pilot episode of their podcast, received feedback from the instructor and their peers, and have a plan for going forward.
