Global Environmental Health Problems: Principles and Case Studies

Global Environmental Health Problems: Principles and Case Studies is a for-credit online course taken simultaneously by students from Duke, Duke Kunshan University (DKU), and Peking University. The course uses examples from the U.S., China and other countries to illustrate contemporary environmental issues that have global health impact. Roughly half the course focuses on providing students fundamental knowledge, and the other half has students delve into case studies.

The course features online lecture videos and guest speaker lectures. Online technology and communications tools provide students flexibility in studying course content at their own convenience and foster engagement between students at Duke, DKU, and Peking University.
