Overview

In this Duke Environment+ beginner-level course, you’ll learn how drones are transforming the environmental sciences — and how this technology can revolutionize your own work. Over the course of four weeks, you’ll learn the basics of drones and how they capture research data; how scientists are currently implementing this technology; best practices for legal and ethical research; and career opportunities in this growing field. At the end of this course, you’ll be able to describe how you can apply drones to work that interests you. This course will also prepare you for the three course series UAS Applicants and Operations in Environmental Science, which will dive further into topics covered in this Coursera offering.
